Sr.Technical Manager
1.  General Position Summary:
Responsible for technological process design including new products, research and development of new materials applications in all areas.
Responsible for managing Creative design and Prepress Team
Responsible for Ink Formulation Center management


2.  Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
2.1 Full responsible for the new product/techniques research & development (R&D)
2.2 Be responsible for the process design and conduct necessary execution audit
2.3 Work together with QA Department for the development of quality control process
2.4 Decide process capability during quotation
2.5 Provide technical support to audit suppliers
2.6 Research and develop new materials applications in all areas 
2.7 Provide technical support to sales force
2.8 Assist with minimizing wastage, rejects and downtime through better work practices
2.9 Make capital recommendations for new equipment
2.10 Be familiar and able to use statistical data analysis techniques for problem solving.

4. Job Scope:
Work is frequently new and varied.  Work involves a high degree of complexity.  Incumbent determines their own practices and procedures, and contributes to the development of new concepts, technological design, developing and testing materials.  Duties will be performed with direction from management on major issues only.  Errors in judgment could lead to failure to meet critical production deadlines, dissatisfied customers, loss of clients and injury to employees. Will be seen as original and value added in brainstorming settings and has the functional, technical knowledge and skills to perform the job at a high level of accomplishment. 


5.Supervisory Responsibility:
Full responsibility for all the technical aspects of the running of the plant with all direct reports from technicians.


6. Interpersonal Contacts:
Has regular contact with others both inside and outside the organization.  The most common internal contacts are with own supervisor and sales force.  The most frequent external contacts are with related suppliers and customers.  Internal and external interactions involve information exchange, problem solving, negotiation, and support for training.  Internal contacts frequently contain some discussion about confidential/sensitive matters.


7.  Specific Job Skills:
7.1 Excellent communication skills (including listening, writing, speaking) required
7.2 Ability to read, write, speak and understand Mandarin / Cantonese. An understanding of English is required.
7.3 Mental ability to conduct on-going interpersonal interactions, analyze and solve problems and a high special ability is essential
7.4 Ability to actively participate in team development and team-oriented processes and motivate others to do the same.
7.5 Excellent knowledge of all production processes.
7.6 Knowledge all OH&S requirements
7.7 Excellent knowledge of printing and packaging
7.8 Excellent presentation skills
7.9 Excellent organizing and planning skills
7.10 Customer focused


8. Education and/or Experience:
8.1 Bachelor degree or equivalent specializing in management, engineering, industrial engineering or a related field
8.2 Minimum 5 years experience in folding carton industry is desirable however not essential
8.3 Minimum 5 years experience in production department
8.4 Minimum 2 years at a supervisory level


9. Job Conditions:
9.1 Normal office working conditions, must be very mobile, spending a considerable part of the working day interacting with all production processes
9.2 Job may require working days that exceed 8 hours and/or 40 hours per week
