Automation Manager |
|
Maintain Manufacturing Engineering drawings, work instructions, CNC programs, document control systems, project files Utilize lean manufacturing methods to ensure optimized manufacturing processes that meet established quality, safety, cost, & delivery requirements Coordinate with maintenance and production personnel to implement changes to machinery and fixtures Support for Business Growth Strategies, New Program Costing & Design for manufacturability initiatives Work closely with Product Engineering and Quality Assurance to implement improvements related to quality and manufacturing processes Develop staff by setting goals, create & implement training plans and tracks progress Conducts performance evaluation of staff
Knowledge and Skills (include education, years of experience, certifications, etc): 1.Engineering Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical or equivalent 2.10 to 15 years of experience, including: process engineering, process design, project management, equipment design, leading an engineering team 3.Advanced degree in Engineering or Business desirable 4.Education and/or work experience with emphasis in manufacturing process, robotics, automation and a well-developed knowledge of general engineering principles and practices Engineering Management experience 1.Manufacturing environment experience with hands on knowledge of assembly, fixtures, welding,sheet metal fabrication equipment selection & process capability 2.Experience with processes related to large product/vehicle assembly and production equipment. 3.Project Management and organizational skills 4.Have developed/led major and technically challenging capital projects (people, process, equipment and raw material) from design to installation and start-up 5.Have developed financial justification and capital funding request for major projects 6.Knowledgeable on cutting edge technology, current industry trends and practices in automation and robotics applications. 7.PLC certification and/or experience desirable
Ability to troubleshoot equipment problems 1.Solid understanding of computer programming, advanced controls and automation 2.Working knowledge of welding technology and robotic programming tools 3.Professionally driven by goals and objectives 4.Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills 5.Excellent written and verbal communication skills 6.Creative thinking skills 7.Proficient in the suite of MS Office, Project Management and design software |
